Sweet Dreams

Something that surprises a lot of people about me is that I'm a huge fan of Marilyn Manson, something I share with my younger sister, Soph. His music got me through teenage angst and bullying, and to this day helps me express/work through negative emotions. As such a controversial figure he is underneath it all very much an artist, and his autobiography "Long Hard Road Out of Hell" remains one of the best books that I've ever read. His cover of the Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" which featured in the remake of House on Haunted Hill was what kick-started my love of his music. Mechanical Animals was the first album that I bought and I can still remember fighting with my best friend at the time over the last copy in the record shop.

This piece is probably the only one that I have ever created mostly using felt tip pens and more or less scratching at the page to create this effect. I'd like to be able to credit or demonstrate the original image but have been unable to find it anywhere online. The original was in a Marilyn Manson calendar; I drew this in my late teens. I've played around with the image in PRISMA but since the original is so striking there wasn't much that could be changed.
